No Experience? 3 Free Sites to Build Your Korean Portfolio
No work experience for your Korean portfolio? Here are 3 free websites foreigners can use today to build real projects and get hired in Korea.

I get this question all the time. "What projects do I put on my portfolio?"
Maybe you have no work experience yet. Maybe your Korean portfolio is empty and you feel stuck. That is okay. You do not need a job to build a project. You just need a place to start. Here are 3 free websites you can use today to fill your portfolio and boost your chances of getting hired in Korea.
Allforyoung: real projects with Korean companies

The first one is a Korean site called 요즘것들 (Allforyoung.com).
It lists open 공모 (contests) and 프로젝트 (projects) you can join. Some are with real companies. Some are with a team. A lot of them are made for people in their 20s who go to a Korean university.
Most are free to apply to, even as a foreigner. But some company projects have rules, so always check if you can join before you start.
Here is one example. Hyundai runs a project, and anyone at a 4-year university can apply. That is a real corporate company name on your portfolio and potential employers will see that as a positive thing.

Not a student? Try IdeaPicker
Not in a Korean school? Do not worry. You can still build great projects.
Go to IdeaPicker. It is a list of real business ideas. Pick one that you resonate with or the industry you’re trying to target, then build a small project around it.
Here is why I love this. You do not start from a blank page. You start with a problem someone already wants solved, then you add your own taste and customizations on top. That is way easier, and it looks smart in your portfolio, because you’re actually solving business problems, which is what employers are looking for.

Want something more technical? Try the AI agent list
The third site is for tech and AI-related projects.
There is a big Github repo online with 500 AI agent projects you can start building today. It shows real ways people use AI. It also links to open-source projects so you can see the code and try it yourself.
These projects touch a lot of fields. Health. Money. School. Shopping. If you want to show you can build with AI, this is a strong place to pick your first project.

The Real Point
You do not need a fancy past to get hired in Korea, you need proof that you can do the work. These 3 free sites give you that proof, even if you are starting from zero.
Pick one today and build your first project this week.
And once your projects are ready, they only help if your portfolio shows them the right way. That is what KOVE helps out with. If you’re struggling with resume and portfolio building, reach out to me here!
