Make Your AI Resume Unrejectable With This ONE Fix
veryone can now spot an AI-written resume in seconds, which can get you filtered by ATS. Here's how to use AI correctly to make it sound more like you, not like a robot.

Everyone says how easy it is to write your resume with ChatGPT or Claude, so you go ahead and create one and then submit it. But, it gets ignored.
People can tell now when something is written by AI; notably the em dashes everywhere and awkward sentences. Once you learn to see it, you can't unsee it. And these days everyone can see it, including the Korean recruiter reading your application.
But here’s the tricky part. They don't want you to avoid AI completely. In Korea, AI fluency is now a requirement. So the goal isn't "avoid using AI completely" The goal is a job application that sounds like you with the help of AI, and shows you know how to use AI properly.
Tip 1: Tell your AI what not to do and what to do instead
Go into your AI's settings and set it rules about what it can do and can’t do. This is the simplest setting that you can turn on right away.
You can use Claude for this, go into Claude settings and give instructions for Claude.

I’m using these specific rules, but you can tweak this and adapt it to your own preference:
SHOULD use clear, simple language.
SHOULD be spartan and informative.
SHOULD use short, impactful sentences.
SHOULD use active voice; avoid passive voice.
SHOULD focus on practical, actionable insights.
SHOULD use bullet point lists in social media posts.
SHOULD use data and examples to support claims when possible.
SHOULD use “you” and “your” to directly address the reader.
AVOID using em dashes (—) anywhere in your response. Use only commas, periods, or other standard punctuation. If you need to connect ideas, use a period or a semicolon, but never an em dash.
AVOID constructions like "...not just this, but also this".
AVOID metaphors and clichés.
AVOID generalizations.
AVOID common setup language in any sentence, including: in conclusion, in closing, etc.
AVOID output warnings or notes, just the output requested.
AVOID unnecessary adjectives and adverbs.
AVOID hashtags.
AVOID semicolons.
AVOID markdown.
AVOID asterisks.
AVOID these words:
“can, may, just, that, very, really, literally, actually, certainly, probably, basically, could, maybe, delve, embark, enlightening, esteemed, shed light, craft, crafting, imagine, realm, game-changer, unlock, discover, skyrocket, abyss, not alone, in a world where, revolutionize, disruptive, utilize, utilizing, dive deep, tapestry, illuminate, unveil, pivotal, intricate, elucidate, hence, furthermore, realm, however, harness, exciting, groundbreaking, cutting-edge, remarkable, it, remains to be seen, glimpse into, navigating, landscape, stark, testament, in summary, in conclusion, moreover, boost, skyrocketing, opened up, powerful, inquiries, ever-evolving"It takes 30 seconds, and it will try to adapt it across every chat. Now your first draft already sounds less like a robot.
Step 2: Run it through a language humanizer skill
Before you submit any documents, run it through a language humanizer skill.
Basically this is a skill that’s specifically developed to make your writing sound more human.
There are free humanizer skills you can add to your AI and available here for free for both English and Korean.

Install both Korean and English, and next time you submit your documents, run it through the skill.

Step 3: Teach AI your voice
This is a step that gets almost ignored, but AI can actually read your existing writing and train itself to understand your “voice.”
The process you can follow is simple:
- Input your emails, your past essays, your project conversations
- I personally keep track of my content writing on my Notion and connect Claude to read through it
- Ask with a prompt such as, “Describe my writing style until you have 100% clarity”
- Review the answer then ask it to create a super prompt in your voice: “Create super prompt writing instructions for an AI-Prose assistant”
- IMPORTANT: Use the prompt to get a writing, but then ask it to do a comparative analysis:
- “I have two writing, one from my existing writing and then another generated by AI. want you to analyze how closely this one matches the writing of my first writing. Tell me how close it is stylistically on a scale of 0% to 100%”
- If the match is low, ask for specific feedback
- Iterate the process until you’re satisfied with the prompt
That's the difference between a resume that could belong to anyone and one that clearly belongs to you.
My final take
Use AI as your assistant smartly, instead of letting it do everything for you blindly.
Make sure to proofread all your work, especially your job application.
Your taste and your judgment are what make it good. Finally, knowing how to utilize it well and balancing your taste is what companies today are looking for.
