How to Find Real Work From Home Jobs in Korea As a Foreigner
Work from home in Korea is not a myth. Learn how to find real remote and hybrid jobs in Korea (재택, 원격, 하이브리드) using different job boards, plus how to verify WFH is actually practiced before you apply.

You’ve probably heard that working from home in Korea is impossible. It’s not. I landed a software developer role here with 3 days WFH every week, and the difference was not luck. It was filtering and research.
WFH in Korea exists, but many listings are misleading. Some companies use “재택 가능” as bait, then quietly walk it back in the interview. Below is the exact method I used to find real hybrid and remote-friendly companies, without wasting time applying to places that will never offer it.
Step 1: Start on the right platforms
Use Korean job platforms as your starting map, not your final destination.
Good places to search:
- LinkedIn (best for global teams and English job descriptions)
- Saramin (huge volume, very Korea-specific postings)
- Wanted (strong for tech, product, and startups)
- KOVE’s Global Company List (filtered for global companies with Korean branches)

Step 2: Search smarter with Korean keywords
If you only search “remote,” you will miss tons of roles. Many Korean companies tag WFH using Korean words.
On LinkedIn, Saramin, or Wanted, search and filter using:
- 재택 (work from home)
- 원격 (remote)
- 재택근무 (WFH)
- 하이브리드 (hybrid)
- 유연근무 (flexible work)
Then do one more filter that changed everything for me: prioritize 대기업 (large companies) and 외국계 (global companies). In my experience, these groups are more likely to have real systems for hybrid work, like secure laptops, clear policies, and managers who are used to distributed teams.
Important tip: do not apply to everything that pops up. Save roles into a short list and research the company first.
My “WFH is real” filter: if the job post mentions how often (ex: “주 2회 재택”) or names the policy clearly (ex: “하이브리드 근무”), it is usually more real than vague lines like “재택 가능.”

Step 3: Confirm it’s real before you apply
Here’s what I learned the hard way. One company advertised WFH, but at the interview they told me: “We don’t do remote anymore.” That is why you must verify the benefit outside the job description.
Do this quick “WFH truth check” before applying:
- Check recent reviews on Blind and JobPlanet.
- Sort by newest, then scan for keywords: 재택, 출근, 야근 (overtime), 워라밸 (work-life balance).
- Look for patterns, not one angry review. If five recent comments say “they stopped WFH,” believe them.
My rule: if reviews are terrible but you still want interview practice, go for it. Just do not emotionally commit to the WFH promise.

Quick checklist (save this)
Before you apply:
- Search using 재택, 원격, 하이브리드.
- Prioritize 대기업 or 외국계 if WFH matters to you.
- Read recent Blind and JobPlanet reviews for WFH reality.
- Ask direct WFH questions in the interview.
WFH in Korea isn’t a myth. You just need the right filters and 10 minutes of research per company.
