Are you being paid what your role is worth in Korea or are you getting underpaid

Most foreigners working in Korea don’t know how to properly find out. You don't have a close-knit network of local peers comparing base pay. You can't read the Korean salary forums fluently. So you end up guessing your worth.

There's a faster way now. Claude can pull your Korean salary against real market benchmarks and hand you a clear read in about a minute. Here's how to do it.

Set up the comp analysis tool: do this once

The tool is called the Human Resources plugin, so you add it a single time and it's there forever.

Open Claude. Click customize, then add plugin. Search "human resources" and add it.

Run the check

Go back to the chat and type “/comp analysis”. Drop in your salary with one short prompt, something like "here's my current comp, tell me how it compares to market." You can also attach your offer letter.

Claude will ask you a few quick questions. Expect your role, your years of experience, your industry, and your location in Korea. Answer them honestly, because the clearer your inputs, the sharper the read.

Then Claude goes out to the leading salary aggregators, pulls the current ranges, and comes back with a detailed breakdown of where you actually sit.

What the analysis actually gives you

You get a detailed analysis. Where your number falls against the market range, whether you're below, at, or above the median for your role, and how much gap there is between your pay and what comparable people are earning.

That last part is the useful bit. If the tool shows you sitting well under the market band, you're not guessing anymore. You have a figure, a source, and a reason to have the conversation with your manager or your next recruiter. If you're already at the top of the range, that's worth knowing too, because it tells you the leverage is somewhere other than base pay.

For visuals, you can ask chat to turn the current analysis into a “HTML visual with graphs” and it will output a clean formatted page like the photo above.

Turn the number into a decision

You can use the offer letter to decide whether to accept or negotiate the offer. You can also use it as a benchmark for your next workplace.

Run the analysis today, and also share this tool with someone who would benefit from it.
