If you are looking for a job in Korea, here are five helpful prompts.

When you use AI, make sure you actually understand the Korean words it gives you. Don't just copy and paste everything! If the Korean sounds robotic or strange, the company will know you didn't write it yourself. AI is a tool to help you, but it shouldn't do all the work for you.

You can use tools like ChatGPT or Claude, but Gemini is a great choice because it’s free and easy to use especially if you already have a Google account.

1. The Cover Letter Prompt

Use when: You need help defining a reason for applying to a specific company

English: "Act as a hiring manager with 10 years of experience. I am applying for a [Job Role: e.g., Marketing] position. Based on my experiences below, write a 'Reason for Applying' section in under 800 characters."

Korean: "너는 10년 경력의 인사담당자야. 나는 [지원 직무]에 지원하는 취업 준비생이야. 아래 내 경험을 바탕으로 '지원 동기' 항목을 800자 이내로 작성해줘."

2. The STAR Method Prompt

Use when: You need help organizing your experience so it clearly shows your problem-solving skills

English: "Organize my experience using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result). Topic: Solving a conflict during a team project. Length: Under 600 characters. Please include a version that sounds natural for a speaking interview."

Korean: "나의 경험을 STAR 구조(상황-과제-행동-결과)로 정리해줘. 주제: 팀 프로젝트에서 갈등을 해결한 경험. 분량: 600자 이내, 면접 답변에도 쓸 수 있도록 구어체 포함 버전도 함께 작성해줘."

3. Job Analysis Prompt

Use when: You see a job posting you like and want to know exactly which of your skills you should highlight to get noticed.

English: "Analyze the [Job Title] posting for [Company Name]. List the 3 main tasks, the skills needed, what kind of experiences I should highlight, and what certifications or portfolios you recommend."

Korean: "[기업명]의 [직무명] 공고를 분석해줘. 핵심 업무 3가지, 요구 역량, 강조해야 할 경험 유형, 그리고 추천하는 포트폴리오나 자격증을 정리해줘."

4. Interview Practice Prompt

Use when: You have an interview coming up and want to practice answering the specific questions a company is likely to ask you.

English: "I am preparing for an interview at [Company Name]. Based on my resume below, please come up with 5 likely interview questions and provide the best way to answer each one."

Korean: "[기업명] 면접을 준비 중이야. 아래 내 이력서를 바탕으로 예상 질문 5개와 각 질문에 대한 모범 답안을 작성해줘."

5. Company Research Prompt

Use when: You want to quickly learn what a company does and what makes them special so you can talk about them in your application.

English: "Summarize [Company Name] for me. Tell me about their main products, recent news from the last two years, and how they are different from their competitors. Also, write one paragraph I can use for my cover letter."

Korean: "[기업명]에 대해 요약해줘. 주요 서비스, 최근 1~2년간 성과, 경쟁사와 다른 점을 알려줘. 이 정보를 바탕으로 자소서에 쓸 수 있는 지원 동기 한 문단도 작성해줘."
