5 Careers in Korea That Will Be Hiring Foreigners Over the Next 2 to 3 Years

Five fast-growing fields in Korea are hiring over the next 2-3 years, including foreigner-friendly positions.

Over the next two to three years, these five careers are where the hiring is heading In Korea. Most of them can sponsor an E-7 visa, so they're worth aiming at now, before everyone else catches on.

A quick note before the list: "growing" doesn't mean "easy." These roles are still competitive. But they're competitive in a way that finally works in your favor, specifically because of AI, as it has created skills that has never existed before in korea and you can start preparing for them starting today.

1. AI and ML engineer

A majority of Korean firms say they plan to hire more foreign talent for roles like AI and development (Seoul Economic Daily, 2026). Salaries can also range from ₩100–200M+. Global companies like Coupang, AWS, and Google all manage AI teams in Seoul. If you can actually build models and have clear technical expertise, this is the clearest path to a high salary and a sponsored visa.

2. Global marketing or brand manager

Korean brands are trying to market overseas, and they want to hire specialized talent who are knowledgeable about the overseas market and trends. This is also due to the K-beauty boom. Anua and April are some K-beauty startups that are all growing abroad, and global companies like L'Oréal are hiring in Korea too. If you understand Western customers, the market and you have the right positioning and experience with interest in K-beauty, you're the exact person these brands are looking for.

3. Semiconductor engineer

The AI chip boom has made companies like Samsung and SK Hynix to hire more semiconductor related positions. These positions usually ask for higher STEM education, like an engineering degree or chip experience. But if you have them, Korea is one of the best places right now to build this career in the next 2-3 years.

Four. Global producer for K-content

Kpop, webtoons, dramas, and games are being watched all over the world. Korean companies need native-language talent to produce and localize that content for global fans. Netflix Korea is hiring specialized talent who understands the global audience. Naver Webtoon and entertainment companies like HYBE want people who understand both the culture and the audience back home.

5. International trade and export specialist

Korea runs on exports. Small and mid-sized companies need people who know foreign buyers and how deals get done across cultures. Agencies like KOTRA sit right in the middle of this work. If you know a market outside Korea, that knowledge is the thing they're paying for.
